St. John's well is situated at Davidstown beside the Calverstown – Narraghmore road. This well is renowned for cures relating to ailments of the head, eye and throat.
Some years ago this well was renovated. While work was being carried out on the site medals and old coins, including a large Daniel O'Connell medallion were found. It is understood that a local woman worked as a housekeeper for O'Connell and it is possible that she may have placed the medallion there. Nearby are the ruins of Davidstown Church and graveyard
